Intel/ESL Game-On MEA

Update: The last cup, Cup #8 is over. Next up are the regional finals, to be held on 4th January 2010.


INFO:

Intel and ESL have recently started an online tournament series called the Game-On Cup. This is a series of competitions where you accumulate points, which lead up to regional finals and then to the grand finals. There are some really amazing prizes to be won, like Core i7 and i5 based desktop PCs and some cool gaming hardware from Roccat, and everyone participating can win something or the other. The game being played is Quake Live.

Here is how the format works:
There are 8 tournaments to be played, all within short time intervals. These are called Cup#1, Cup#2, Cup#3 etc. Playing in these gives you points, and you keep accumulating points based on performance in each of these cups. Points are rewarded in the order of 10/8/6/4/2/2/2/2 (i hope you understand it :P). So positions don't matter as much as long as you're points are going well. Then the top 16 of all players who have played will be picked (based on points) and will gain entry into the 'Country Finals'. The 16 chosen will then play there and the prizes will be the following:

1st @ Country Final: Intel Core i7 based desktop
2nd @ Country Final: Intel Core i5 based desktop
3rd @ Country Final: Intel Core i5 based desktop
4th @ Country Final: Roccat Kone gaming mouse
Roccat Sota gaming mousepads will also be given out to 2 randomly selected players from the country final.

As you can see, there are a lot of prizes :D. Don't worry at all if you aren't good, you should get through and be able to win something or the other, plus it's completely free so you have nothing to lose either. I am not good at all, but i'm still playing :P

TO REGISTER:

To sign up for it, first you need a QuakeLive account. if you don't have one, then register here. When you do, don't forget to post your nametags in this thread. Then you need to get an ESL account if you don't already have one. In your ESL profile add your QL account under your 'Game accounts'. This is important and will link your QL account with your ESL account. Then all you have to do is sign up for the cups here. You can only register for the next cup once the initial one is over, and 2 cups are already complete so you guys still have a shot. Also, once you're registered for a cup, you have to show up on IRC on the day of the cup at #esl.quakelive.mea (Quakenet).

If you guys need any help or info, just contact me. And JOIN THE CUPS, the prizes are too good to miss out on :D

oh okay, v-street india has contacted ID abt a quake live server..i guess vstreet can spare them a machine lets see if we get a server!

yea but when i do tht it says u are already registered in the league but wen i open thie link it says not registered it says error occurred

Try to go IRC #esl.quakelive and ask one of the admins there I guess :(
