lol what? i agree 64bit has been around but it has only been in ready-made PCs for like 8-10 months.

and you did not think hard enough. it's not about saving money, it's to maintain the perception in the consumers' heads that the latest and greatest numbers coming out are superior to anything and everything that was done previously, even if it was a week ago. people have to be pushed wherever possible to buy whatever's just out. more sales for OSes, more people investing in the new x64 chips and processors, etc. infact the point you stated about people not preferring to see 3.xxGB is a real marketing point, believe it or not. i know some people involved deeply in the industry who have given me some of this view.

Badben25 Let me just say this, you love to argue for the sake of arguing and not the argument!

1. Conspiracy much? OH YEA, the big corporations are playing a scam on the general population. What are your trying to say? You don't believe 64bit differs from 32bit? OH YEA because "The corporations" keep changing the numbers, we had 32bit 2weeks ago, 64bits today, and in two weeks we will have 128bit! You have a brilliant insight my friend just because your paranoid doesn't mean you are right. You have no idea how stupid you sound, Just do some research on the web. I have never seen an advertisement of a laptop or a desktop which highlights 64bit as a selling point, AND more importantly most buyers don't even know about 64bit when the purchase their PC, Now please do tell me how can this be a selling point by the manufactures?

2. There is a difference between Marketing and a development in computing. Plus, It is ironic that you think I am the one falling for marketing when you recommend "NIC cards by bigfoot", ROFL.

3. x64chips have existed since Pentium 4 "2004" and support for OS came in "2005" with windows xp. So yea Intel and Microsoft are shoving down "new products" down our throats. Ooops Wait that is like 5year old technology and ALL PROCESSORS that are sold for years are native x64bit. So yea these "corporations" have incentive to sell you 64bit.......

4. Your friends "in the industry" know something the rest of the software engineers and chip makers don't know. because as it is they are wasting their time coming up with 128bits for the future. Why progress technology right? Oh and Just check out Microsoft's article or any academic article/studies, or heck any magazine/computing website article on this subject matter.

5. Yea you are right, Microsoft deliberately shows 3.XXGB because they want for public to file a lawsuit, how smart of them when they don't even care when you purchase 64bit or 32bit because their OS is naively written for both platforms!!. Oh let me guess they are one of the "corporations" controlling the universe.

You state false information on how companies have incentive to sell 64bit, yet I am the one who needs to grow up. Please for the sake of whoever you believe in, how do these companies profit out of selling you 64bit.. If you want to argue then back your arguments, don't just bluntly throw rubbish in the air.

I am sick and tired of your posts on computers, but now it seem your understanding of how business, economy, and capitalism works is just as bad as your understanding of computer hardware.
-------------------------
1. "since you have the money it would be cool if you got one of those Killer NICs by Bigfoot"
IT would be indeed cool, like seeing paper flushing down the toilet

2. "you could go for it and save some time that would've been spent in building a custom PC."
Yes, It takes time assembling a PC! a shop, where you purchase the parts from would do it for you in a day, or better yet do it yourself, takes roughly 2-3hours.

3. "alienware is also good."
Nah dude, Alienware IS Kool

I am sorry but Badben25 insists on derailing the topic, he has also given you gold advice! Joking aside if you wan't serious input please tell us more.

"Which FPS title are you talking about? What resolution do you play your games on? How heavily do use your computer? Are you into overclocking? Do you want best bang for the buck, or willing to spend all your cash? Which OS you will be using? "

lol Feroz you've been taking this like some serious argument from the very beginning, no wonder raging is quick on your front. i know the NIC is a simple novelty. why did i suggest it? cuz the kid has a lot in terms of a budget. heck, i would've even asked him to buy some humping dog usb drives for us.

the research involved in building a custom PC is clearly more than in buying a ready-made PC. this cannot be denied. and there's nothing really wrong with Alienware. yes, it is hyped and overpriced, but it will save him trouble in terms of repairs, warranties etc. if something goes wrong all he has to do himself is pop in the recovery disc. i mean FFS he's an average joe when it comes to all this.

derailing the topic? no one is derailing it, but you have certainly made it lengthier. i would've responded to all the other the things you posted with proven points, but i won't bother.

and calm the fuck down.
