DWGC 2010 UAE

Dubai World Game Championship (DWGC) 2010, the biggest gaming event in the UAE, is starting very soon, with about AED 100,000 in cash prizes. The DWGC includes several events, including the national qualifiers for World Cyber Games (WCG), a number of open championships and a few inter-school tournaments.

Games and competitions included this year are:

Counter-Strike 1.6
Platform: PC (ofcourse)

• WCG qualifiers
• Open Championship
• Inter-school tournament
  

Street Fighter 4
Platform: PS3

• Open Championship
• Inter-school tournament
  

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010
Platform: PS3

• Open Championship
• Inter-school tournament
  

The prizes:

WCG qualifiers:
Winner: AED 10,000
Runner-Up: AED 5000

Open Championship:
Winner: AED 10,000
Runner-Up: AED 5000

Inter-school:
Winner: AED 5000
Runner-Up: trophies/certificates

» Street Fighter 4

Open Championship:
Winner: AED 5000
Runner-Up: AED 2000

Inter-school:
Winner: AED 5000
Runner-Up: AED 2000

» Pro Evolution Soccer 2010

The first in a chain of tournaments will be held on 18-19 February at Star Atrium in Dubai Mall and starts at 2pm. We'll update this post as soon as we have more details.
Registration fees for all games this year is AED 50 per player.

I have been in contacts with Nerza (The head organizer) for the past few weeks, They are still thinking of adding warcraft3.

This will be last tournament with warcraft3 in this region, as starcraft2 will be on sale at q3/q4 of this year.

college, university, and other education institutions students will only be able to participate in that tournament, happened last year, they will repeat it this year.

DWGC's open championship works like a tour, so there will be tournaments in all the other emirates before the main finals event. in every open event they pair teams up who then play each other, and the winner qualifies for the finals event. it is kinda retarded.
since you've won, they will contact you and you will be playing in the main finals event.
