Golden Entertainment Center alongwith eSports.SA, located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is hosting a Counter-Strike: Source Champions Tournament today, Saturday, February 13th till Friday, February 19th.

Twenty two CS:S teams from countries such as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are attending the tournament. Prize payout is as follows:

1st. SAR 10,000
2nd. SAR 5,000
3rd. SAR 3,000

In addition to this, a PlayStation 3 will be awarded to the 'Best Player' in the tournament. There will also be lottery prizes such as PSPs, laptops, steam accounts, phones and free cafe hours for the spectators.

Tournament format used will be CAL match settings. Maps used will be de_dust2, de_nuke, de_train, de_inferno, de_cpl_mill, de_contra, de_season, de_strike, de_tuscan.

From 11th-14th February, BITS Pilani (located in Academic City in Dubai, UAE) is holding their 3rd series of intra-university tournaments. The event is called Game-On 2010, and the games involved are:

• Counter-Strike 1.6 (5v5)
• Defense Of The Ancients (5v5)
• FIFA 10 (1v1)
• Age Of Empires 2: The Conquerors (2v2)
• Need For Speed: Most Wanted (1v1)
• Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (4v4)
  

A new gaming network will be opening in Dubai, UAE in the middle of May 2010. The network cafe will be called eSCAPE Gaming Network and will be located in the Al Barsha area, near Mall of the Emirates.

A Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament will be held on the 2nd week of the cafe's opening with a AED 10,000 prize pool. 1st place winner will receive AED 8,000 and 2nd place winner will receive AED 2,000.

Tournaments for Defense of the Ancients and Pro-Evolution Soccer will also follow this year.

eSCAPE Gaming Network will also be sponsoring Team Impulse, the best CS 1.6 team in UAE at the moment. Consequently they will change their team name to 'eSCAPE'. Cafe & team manager will be xpac.

Tournament format
-A 6v6 double elimination format.

-Number of slots open for this tournament is dependent on the number of teams signing up

Map format

-Best of three maps, first to five or highest score within the time limit of thirty minutes will win the map and the third map will not be played if a team wins the first two maps. If there is a tie breaker(third map), both teams will take a turn each to eliminate the remaining maps from the map pool until there is only one map left which shall be played as the tie breaker map.

-Maps listis now shown at the registration thread.

Registration closes on the 14th March 2010. Tournament is expected to start on the 21st March 2010 if there are enough teams and no problems encountered.
